Goodgirl
Goodgirl began as a Houston trio and released their debut EP, Poor Habits, through Head2Wall Records on February 14, 2019. Recorded by Justin Douglas at King Electric Studio in Austin and mastered by Jack Control at Enormous Door, its five songs put clear melodies against distorted guitars, heavy drums, and bass. The band described the record as a look at the behaviors people learn to accept as normal, even when those habits are doing damage. Goodgirl followed it with Holy Hounds in 2019, “Poison Girl” in 2020, and “Bring the Light” in 2023. By 2024, they were performing as a five-piece and filling much of their set with unreleased songs. Poor Habits originally appeared digitally, on cassette, and as a one-sided 12-inch lathe cut limited to 25 copies. Rite Field returned to the EP in 2024 for a full 180-gram vinyl pressing. It was the first full vinyl run we ever produced, before Rite Field formally became a label, making Goodgirl part of the story from the beginning.
