Pope is a Houston-founded alternative rock band made up of Matt Seferian (vocals/guitar/bass), Alex Skalany (vocals/guitar/bass), and Atticus Lopez (drums). The band signed to Rite Field in 2025 and returned in 2026 with BFM, their first new album in over eight years and the follow-up to True Talent Champion (2017). In press materials, BFM is framed as a homecoming record, “built on years of trust,” tracing what started in Houston and later deepened in New Orleans. Their sound draws from 90s and early-2000s alternative indie rock with some distortion and distinctive dynamics without overdoing any one element.
