The Walls You’ve Built were a Houston-area screamo/hardcore band active from 2003 to 2006. Their lineup included Brent Bailey (bass/vocals), Marcus Gausepohl (guitar/vocals), Andrew (drums/vocals) and others. They self-released an EP (Definition of a Friendship) and appeared on regional compilations in the mid-2000s. In 2025 Rite Field Records remastered and compiled their entire output as the Discography LP. The Walls You’ve Built’s sound was raw and urgent: fast-paced, jagged guitar riffs and shouted vocals characteristic of Texas DIY hardcore/screamo. Their music relies on repetition, amplitude and emotional weight.
